Good Citizenship Award
2021 Good Citizenship Award for Luke Bessette. We were pleased and honored to recognize Luke. His qualifications and accomplishments include:
Luke is among the top 1% of students. He never took a day off, and was unfailingly prepared for and engaged in class. His writing, which he always honed with a draft, was excellent displaying cogent argument, nuanced expression and polish. He has achieved at a very high level across all classes earning him membership in the National Honor Society and a Parvis scholarship. He has the intellect, work ethic and maturity to make a seamless transition to the demands of higher education.
Outside of the classroom, Luke has dedicated himself to various pursuits. He is a talented baseball player who is passionate in his dedication to honing his craft as a pitcher. He is one of the stars of the varsity team and also plays on a club team which competes regionally. He is also a generous volunteer who has given generously on campus as a student ambassador and off campus to Special Olympics and as a camp counsellor. That Luke can so capably balance his athletic and volunteer commitments with his ambitious academic course load speaks to his time management skills and tireless work ethic.
24 May 2022 award of the Bronze Good Citizenship Medal to a worthy student at St. Mary’s High School. It was given to John Cartagirone, a graduating senior at St. Mary’s for his outstanding work in the community and the school.
